The Founders
Beau Gâchis® Paris was founded in 2013 by Bill and Robin Guess who are both natives of Tampa, Florida and still reside in the area with their two beautiful daughters. It is those two daughters who the name “Beau Gâchis” was derived from. Beau Gâchis literally translates to “Beautiful Mess”, which is what Bill and Robin have always called their little girls.
“We want to design and create the highest quality make up products in the world and make them available to everyone, everywhere. We listen to what our customers say, respond to their needs, and keep them forever.”

Robin’s Story
As a wife, mother, and full time employee of a Fortune 100 company trying to climb the proverbial “corporate ladder”, I was pretty much feeling at the top of my game with a hunger for more. That is until the glass ceiling fell and suddenly I became a statistic of Corporate America due to massive downsizing after a recent merger. It actually worked out to be perfect timing since our oldest daughter was about to embark on her first year of middle school. My husband and I both agreed that if ever there was a time that the girls needed a stay-at-home mom, this was it. And boy was it ever! I think starting middle school was harder on me than it was on our daughter. We all managed to survive, and I am truly thankful that I was able to experience that part of her journey with her instead of the care takers I used to pay to take care of our children while trying to work my way to the top in my career.
Going from having not enough hours in the day to not knowing what I was going to do each day was quite an adjustment. Oh sure, I was able to get caught up on a lot of those “one of these days” projects, but you can only paint a room or clean out a closet so many times before you start wondering where your worth lies.
I remember the day so clearly when I needed to buy a few new makeup brushes to replace some of the old ones I already had. Back in my “Corporate America” days, I never really paid much attention to the cost of these beauty tools and always bought the best. Unfortunately this time, I no longer had an income and learned to stretch a dollar as far as I possibly could. Sadly, I came home from the department store empty handed; but that moment marked the beginning of the most incredible journey of entrepreneurship and creativity that I never saw coming.
After explaining my makeup brush buying experience (or lack thereof) to my husband, I told him that women should be able to buy quality beauty tools without having to break the bank to do so. I mean, there really is a difference in an $8.00 brush and an $80.00 brush, but does it really have to be that way? And so there began my mission. To figure out how to create high quality products at an affordable price.
I just have to say that I have the most patient husband in the world because he tolerated and endured the months and months of research both online and in stores, to make sure that we knew what people loved and didn’t love about their makeup brushes, the difference in the materials used, and who the best manufacturers were for the many leaders in the beauty industry. It certainly helped that he was raised with five sisters, both with the fashion side of this journey as well as putting up with me during it. He is such a blessing to me and our girls.
Our first product is my pride and joy, and still our most popular to date. The 7 Piece Makeup Brush Set includes the tools that were requested most through our own customer surveys and online feedback. I love talking to our customers and am humbled by the kind words and positive feedback we have received. It feels really good to be able to “pay it forward” by keeping the cost of our products as low as possible. When a savings is passed on to us, we reflect that in our pricing so that our customers can benefit as well. After all, without our customers, we have no business. By focusing on our customers, we realized early on that this mission I went on has taken off in a whole new direction and has begun growing faster than I could have ever imagined!
This is such a “beautiful mess” I fell into, and I realize that the things I thought were important before when seeking self-worth were always for the benefit of corporate greed. The self-worth I feel from working hard to benefit other women who might find themselves in similar situations like mine when I started this journey far outweighs any other. Life is good, and I am so thankful that I get to share it with all of you.
